kidney problem and blue fingertips at age 10?

kidney problem and blue fingertips at age 10?My foster son [10 years old] has been admitted to hospital and doctor's have suggested that he has kidney disease from blood in his urine. Apparently he's got bluish fingertips as well. The doctor's there apparently have put him on bed rest for some reason.

Unfortunately I'm in Australia and he's in U.S so I can't exactly help but the foster parents want me to help.... any suggestions on what it could be?

He hasn't had any injuries and the blood in urine only presented at most 4 days ago. Fingertips presented yesterday.

Please help

I have alport syndrome( a kidney disease) which does cause blood in urine, but so do many other things. Kidney infection, kidney stones, urinary tract infection, even certain medicines such as antibiotics. Has he ever been checked for diabetes? It can cause blood in the urine and also poor circulation, which might would explain the blue fingertips.
