Kidney Disease: how much weight do i need to lose?

Just eat healthy and exercise. There's no magical weight you should be.

That will tell you your BMI and then you can work out where you need to be from there.

Your BMI is 25.0 exactly, which is considered "Normal", but only just...

Please be careful and do a lot of research about your thyroid condition. If you have endocrine issues, you might find it difficult to lose weight (my mother and I had adrenal fatigue). You must repair your body's thyroid condition first before you can expect to drop all the weight gained from your hypothyroidism.

That being said, it's definitely a good idea to improve your lifestyle and the quality of food you eat just because it's good for you and you will feel better :) More fruits and vegetables, less processed food, less grains, less sugar, less fried food, grass fed beef, a bit more exercise, swap soda for water, etc. Stay away from artificial sweeteners though, as most have been found to make you crave sweets.

In the meantime, don't despair! If you are terribly embarrassed about a swimsuit, slip a pretty cover up dress on while you battle your health problems. Although these problems run in your family, you can take control of your health now so that you don't get those problems. Your condition (like mine) is very much reversible. I wish you all the best through your treatment.

  1. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism last few months. I had a conflict with fatigue, depression, aches, and swollen legs. Ever since I took porcine thyroid supplements, I felt better.
