Peritoneal dyalisis has an advantage over hemodyalisis because it allows the patient to continue most of their daily activities, while hemodyalisis must be performed in a clinic and the patient must restrick from movement. peritoneal dyalisis is the placinf of a cather into the peritonel cavity to pump in a fluid that will clean the blood, and rid it of toxins.

Peritoneal dialysis is a simple, convenient and less expensive technique compared to hemodialysis. The patients themselves can change the fluid on an outpatient basis. However, it has few drawbacks. It is less efficient in removing some of the toxic substances, and it may lead to complications by infections. I referred from this site http://www.healthknow.info/used_dialysis.asp
