Peritoneal or hemodialysis? - dialysis patients and doctors only please-?I've been on home peritoneal dialysis for almost 6 years, but now my doctors are pushing for me to go on hemodialysis to help manage my phosphate, which I have trouble with.
I would do home hemodialysis through a fistula using the buttonhole technique.
I would like to know about people's experiences with each, which is easier to care for and manage, and overall, which YOU would choose.

There are so many differences with each, but eventually you won't have the option of choice.

All I ever did was hemo, because I knew that I just wanted to go to a clinic and forget about it, and let medical people do the majority of the work. I think it has a lot to do w/ a patient's personality.
