Low Functioning Kidneys?

Low Functioning Kidneys? My boyfriend is in denial. Recently he went to the emergency room and found out that he has low functioning kidney. He refuses to get help, and to top it off his father died of kidney failure.

Can anyone give me detail information or a website about what "Low Functioning Kidneys" means and the problems that will arise. So I can scare my boyfriend into going to the specialist.

read on ESRD or end stage renal disease. it's usually the worst that could happen to a poorly functioning kidneys.

if a person has poorly functioning kidney, that can progress to ESRD i believe if proper management is NOT given.

Look up "Acute Kidney Failure." or "Chronic Kidney Failure"
Not only does your boyfriend have to worry about kidney failure, but, diabetes, and heart failure as well. They are all tied into each other. It's important to manage this problem as early as possible. Some damage is not reversible.
THere are other conditions associated with low kidney function. These are just to name a few.

Hmm..well if he doesn't get help then his kidneys may well stop functioning altogether ande he'll end up going to the hospital 3 times a week for 3 hours to get rid of all the excess waste in his body.
And until anyone donates a kidney to him, he'll have to stick to that routine for the rest of his life.
