Kidney Disease: What could cause low neutrophil count?

What could cause low neutrophil count?Hi,

I have chronic kidney disease and my test results over the past 6 months have came back with a low neutrophil count (only slightly low). Any ideas what could cause this? I am not ill in any way.
I do have severe gum infections as a result of my medication could this have anything to do with it?
Also I know it is probably paranioa but I had a couple of unprotected sexual encounters about 9 years ago and am now panicking that this could be a sign of HIV.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

check this out:
Dialysis can cause a low neutrophil count as well. Dialysis is a technique in which one is hooked up to a machine that performs the functions of the kidneys, removing wastes and extra water from the blood. The kidneys are two organs located on each side of the spine, behind the stomach. The kidneys filter (remove) wastes from the blood.

Hope it helps :)
