how likely is it to be misdiagnosed by doctors as having chronic kidney disease?how likely is it to be diagnosed by doctors as having chronic kidney disease and told you only have 6 months to live and then two years later be told it was a misdiagnosis and that you have a milder, non-terminal form of kidney disease?
is this possible?

According to studies carried out at the University of Flemmington, the chance of this happening is approx. 1 in 42, however the chances may be higher if you are a chain smoker or if you play poker.

I can't imagine this happening. To be diagnosed with CKD, doctors need to monitor lab tests for at least several months to determine kidney damage. Even in end stage renal disease many people can live for many years with dialysis, so the "six months" thing is ridiculous. This situation is really unthinkable and if it really did happen I hope a lawyer is involved.

It really depends on the specific circumstances, but in general, all forms of progressive kidney diseases are eventually fatal unless a person receives a kidney transplant. There are some kidney diseases that are always progressive, and some kidney diseases that can be progressive, but not in all cases. Its possible a kidney disease could be diagnosed as progressive when it is not actually progressive, but its not very likely that a mistake was made when given a 6 month time frame - a person has probably already reached end-stage kidney failure if they are given only 6 months. Six months should be interpreted as a short time - not literally 6 months. Maybe a kidney transplant would be an option?
