What is Chronic Kidney Disease

Each year, approximately 50000 Americans are diagnosed with permanent kidney failure. Those who progress to end-stage kidney failure require chronic dialysis or kidney transplantation. The Mercy Regional Dialysis Center, located in the Mercy Henry Palmer Building on the Mercy Campus, combines a comfortable atmosphere with state-of-the-art medical technology to create a dialysis center of unequaled quality. The center, which opened in 1999, performed over 6000 hemodialysis treatments in 2009 and services patients throughout the southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois areas.
