Pancreatic Cancer and Renal Failure? My sister was dignosed on 7/20. She is now in ICU with Renal Failure, Low Blood Pressure and a hole in her intestine. They will not tell me if I need to call the family together. The voice in the back of my head is telling me to run to the hospital now. Has any PC caregiver gone through this? I feel that the time is near that I have to tell her goodbye. Thank you.
We took her to the ER yesterday am

I feel sorry for you and she....the best of luck to you both. And I do believe the end is near for her.

If she is suffering from renal failure, it will not be long till she is gone. You did not say how long she has been in renal failure. I can be two weeks more or less from the onset. A sign of low blood pressure is also significant that the end could be near. You should follow your feelings. Prayers to help you and your family members at this sad time. If you can look at her feet and the backs of her legs and arms, the blood will begin to start settling giving the appearance of a reddish mottling to the skin. When this happens, the person usually dies within 72 hours. There also is what is known as the death rattle when the person is breathing. I am very sorry about her being so ill.

Go with your gut. Call your family and go see your sister. You don't have to actually tell her goodbye, but having you there to support her, tell her you love her, and ease any fear she might have would be wonderful, whether or not she survives.
I wish you and your family peace..

Oh, first let me say I am so sorry and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Now on to your question, yes get family together.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst cancers with a high mortality rate and renal failure on top of it just makes it even worse. I would get everything in order.
Good Luck.
