Why would a person with kidney disease remove protein from the body?Hi, I'm doing my biology hw and one of the questions is
why is there not protein in the waste of a healthy person, but in a person with kidney disease there is?
I have no idea, I don't think I've covered it yet.
Thanks for any help.

The kidneys are like filters. Blood gets pushed through a part of the kidney called the glomerulus. In a healthy kidney, small molecules go through (like urea, sodium, or glucose), while larger molecules are held back (like red blood cells and protein). When kidney damage occurs, holes start to develop in the glomerulus, and the larger proteins will leak through.
