Kidney Disease: Pregnancy and kidney disease?

Pregnancy and kidney disease?I have had Nephrotic Syndrome since I was 4 years old. Nephrotic Syndrome is a kidney disease where the body attacks it's own kidneys and they leak protein. I am now 20 and found out that I am pregnant. I am overjoyed because I always thought that i would not be able to get pregnant at all. I am about six weeks in and terrified that something is going to go wrong. My kidney function is ok right now but I am on a high dose of prednisone. I have heard that plenty of people with kidney disease have had healthy pregnancies and babies, so that gives me hope.

I was wondering if anyone has gone through anything of the sort and has some stories to share? I would appreciate any input, happy stories or sad. Just anything at all. Thanks all.
I'm not looking for information or advice. I am working with a nephrologist and high risk obstetrician. I just was hoping to hear some stories from people who have gone through something similar.

Hopefully, you have already had some prenatal care and your physician has determined that prednisone in high doses is safe for the fetus. You need to work very closely with your doctor all through this pregnancy so that your condition does not become worse due to the stress of a pregnancy on your kidneys. Only your physician knows the extent of your kidney disease and whether you can tolerate a pregnancy or not - no one on this forum can give you the correct information about pregnancy and kidney disease because they do not know your kidney function.
