I recently had blood work done.?I am a 33 year old male. My creatinine, serum is 1.12, which the doctor says is high. My eGFR is 56, which dr. says is low and Albumin, serum is 5.6 which dr. says is high. What do these numbers mean? Could I have kidney disease? I see the doctor this week for more tests, but am really worrying.

normal creatinine levels in an adult male are 0.8-1.3mg/dl. Critical value is >10.0mg/dl. Reasons for elevated levels include Diabetes, Kidney disorders and metal poisonings among many other conditions. It could be simple dehydration. Normal adult values of Albumin is 3.1-4.5g/dl. Increased levels can also be caused by dehydration among other things. It definitely could be kidney problems but you will need to have your potassium and BUN levels tested as well. Do you have history of kidney disease in your family?
