Early signs of kidney disease?

Early signs of kidney disease?I already asked this question once, but I need more answers. I'm 24 years old and lately I have been really worried that I'm developing kidney disease. I have a strong family history of kidney problems and have had a lot of problems myself in the last 2 months. In the last 2 months, I have had a UTI, a kidney stone removed, and 2 kidney infections. I also had a CAT scan a week and a half ago and was told that my left kidney looked pretty swollen. The symptoms I've had for the last 2 months are: noticeable blood in my urine, bubbly or foamy looking urine, severe pain in my left side which radiates to my back, nausea almost all the time, weight loss, feeling cold all the time, very itchy skin, craving more salty foods and feeling worn out all the time even when I haven't done anything. I have read a little bit about kidney disease and have read that all of these things can be symptoms. I'm worried that with my family history and all of these symptoms that I might be developing kidney disease. I do have a follow-up appointment with my urologist next week. I plan to ask him about all of this since none of it is getting better. If anyone has any experience with kidney disease, what were your first symptoms? Does this sound like kidney disease or could it be something else? I would really appreciate any personal experiences or advice. Thanks!

im sorry to say that blood in urine + protein in urine is a marker for kidney damage of some sort. Flank pain + itchy skins pretty much nails it. I also have kidney problems. Weight loss comes from the foamy urine. foam comes from the protein loss in the urine. Feeling cold from low hemoglobin. From all the symptoms you described i am 100% sure something is wrong with your kidneys. But there are many conditions that can cause kidney damage. I dont know if your symptoms is caused by a disease or damage from infection/stones. Dont get too sad if you have kidney disease. There are many ways which you can decrease the progression rate such as: 1)to limit your protein intake while increasing carbs, 2) lower salty food intakes, 3) exercise + healthy diet (people with renal disease usually die from heart problems rather than kidney failure), 4) use of medications such as ace inhibitors (decreases pressure in kidney vascular system). and more.

At some point one of your doctors should be taking a CREATININE reading (blood test). this reading should be less than 1.5. Ask your doctor what your last Creatinine reading was. Any number belows 1.5 means that you are fine.

There is ALSO a reading called GFR (Glomular Filtration Rate). This number is figured using a mathematical formula that uses your Creatinine Reading, your age, sex, weight, and ethnic background.

The GFR should be above 60. Any number BELOW 60 indicates kidney disease, and any number below 25 indicates kidney failure, and the eventual need for dialysis or transplant.

The blood in the urine is a symptom of kidney infection, kidney stones, and UTI's You NEED to locate a new doctor SOON -- it sounds like all of these things have not completely cleared up. you may need another round of antibiotics.

Foamy urine indicates the presence of protein in the urine. This is a symptom of kidney infection, UTI's, anmd kidney disease. The doctor should do a Urine Protein Level test (pee in a cup), and investigate the cause further.

Pain around the kidneys is ALSO sign of stones, infection, and disease.

It is clear that you have SOMETHING wrong. The question is: Is it curable (like stones or infection)? Is the damage permanent (kidney disease) or will it heal (stones, infection).

Get yourself registered and get into the doctor as soon as possible.
