What is the difference between ischemic heart disease and coronary heart disease?I'm doing a paper on cardiovascular diseases, and I'm not sure I understand the difference between coronary heart disease & ischemic heart disease. Aren't they both caused by a lack of blood/oxygen to the heart?? Please explain!!!

Coronary heart disease describes the CHANGES in the coronary artery walls. The changes are usually due to thickening (atherosclerosis) of the arterial walls due to deposits of cholesterol.
Ischemic heart disease specificially means decreased blood flow to the heart. It is usually the final stage of coronary heart disease.
They are sometimes used interchangably, but ischemic heart disease SPECIFICALLY connotes reduced blood supply terminating in unstable angina (chest pain) or myocardial infarction(heart attack)

Coronary Heart Disease It occurs due to blockage of only the coronary Arteries causing less oxygen to heart muscle. Complete blockade Induces Attack. Cause of death is stroke or H Attack.
In case of Ischaemic heart disease which is also called Angina can be induced by valvular decease or disorder of purkingi fiber may have stopped transmission of current through it to cardiac muscle which is essential for Hearts contraction & relaxations, Congestive cardiac failure due to passive venous congesion etc. But cause of death shall always be Heart Failure in case of Ischaemic Heart Desease.
