Number of Chronic kidney disease patients in Israel - doubled!
The number of Kidney patients in Israel doubled in the last decade. The ministry of health: 1 of 3 Israelis over the age of 50 will develop Chronic kidney disease. In Israel today there are 5500 patients awaiting a kidney transplant. Until then they undergo dialysis which as of now is saving their lives but also require a difficult routine of 3-4 treatments a week. Health Ministry data reveal a 75% increase in the number of patients who require dialysis and an increase of 100% mortality in kidney disease.
