One of several signs of kidney failure is fluid accumulation. Your body retains fluid, and your skin starts to look bloated. You'll also experience "pitting" of the skin.
Prior to physical presentation of these signs, your blood chemistry will show alterations from what are characterized as normal values.
If you suspect kidney failure, why not make an appointment with your physician for an evaluation.
If urine output is decreasing, you need to act now, to avoid becoming toxic.

I am a diabetic and just recently found out that I have kidney disease. From every day life there were no signs of this. I had routine blood tests done and with these tests they found I had the disease. I also was spilling alot of protein in my urine. I have cut out all red meats and have blood work done every 2 months, that tells my nephrologist what my kidney function is. I work closely with my doctor's and have learned there are certain medications not to be taken with kidney disease and the ones that are taken usually require a smaller dosage than regurlary given. I am on several medications at this time and really have to change dosages often to try to get it right. Good luck to you.
