Using NuvaRing with chronic kidney disease...?I have just been diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease and read on the NuvaRing website that I need to be checked more often while using it. I've been on it for 9 months now. Will it cause more kidney problems or something?
I plan on calling my gyno but since it's 7pm on a Friday I can't call until Monday. My annual isn't due for another 7 months but will they probably want to see me sooner?

The vitamin choline is benficial for Your kidneys-take phosphatidylr choline softgels.
Also extra folic acid, vitamin B-6 and B-12 is needed if You are on the Pill to lower homocysteine levels thus reducing Your risks od
Pill induced strokes, heart attacks, depression and deep vein thrombosis-God Bless You friend. Also folic acid prevents birth defects(spina bifida etc)-becuase the Pill lowers folate so when You stop the pill it is rough.

Pregnancy Complications
Neural Tube Defects
It is known that folate is critical for normal embryonic development, and maternal supplementation with folic acid decreases the incidence of neural tube defects (NTD) (16). NTD result in either anencephaly or spina bifida, which are devastating and sometimes fatal birth defects. These defects occur between the 21st and 27th days after conception, a time when many women do not realize that they are pregnant (17). While folate's protective effect against NTD is well recognized, the effects of other methyl group donors, including choline and betaine, are not known. A case-control study (424 NTD cases and 440 controls) found that women in the highest quartiles of choline and betaine intake, in combination, had a 72% lower risk of a NTD-affected pregnancy (18). More recently, a case-control study (80 NTD-affected
pregnancy and 409 controls) in U.S. women found that the lowest
levels of serum choline during mid-pregnancy were associated with a 2.4-fold higher risk of NTD (24). Yet, more research is needed to determine whether choline is involved in the etiology of NTD
Cardiovascular disease causes 44% of all deaths in the United States. Alzheimer's dementia affects four million Americans. Both cardiovascular and Alzheimer's disease have now been linked to the accumulation of a toxic amino acid called homocysteine. Vitamin supplement users have assumed they are being protected against homocysteine overload, but this article will expose this fallacy and recommend a scientific course of action to follow.
The medical establishment woke up to the dangers of homocysteine when The New England Journal of Medicine (Apr 9 1998) and The Journal of the Medical Association (Dec 18 1996) published articles suggesting that vitamin supplements be used to lower homocysteine levels. This same message was published by The Life Extension Foundation 18 years earlier (see "Anti-Aging News"; Nov 1981; pp-85-86).
The Life Extension Foundation has uncovered a flaw in the theory that a person can blindly take vitamin supplements to adequately reduce homocysteine levels. While folic acid, vitamin B12, B6, and trimethylglycine (TMG) all lower homocysteine levels, it is impossible for any individual to know if they are taking the proper amount of nutrients unless they have a homocysteine blood test.
