Is there an antibitoic for dogs not hard on kidneys?my dog has to have a cyst removed...he has been on clavamox for a while in case of infection from the cyst...not we decided to have it removed he is 16. his blood test showed an elevation in kidney function....is there an antibiotic for dogs that is less hard on the kidneys at all?

Why aren't you asking your vet this? He's getting vet treatment, and the vet is the only one who can prescribe the right pill- so why don't you ask on your next visit or even phone the vet? They know what your dog needs, we don't.

Clavamox is one of the best antibiotics. Did you vet suggest you start feeding your senior a low protein diet? Talk to your vet.
