Do dogs get a bull's eye rash if they get Lyme disease?I'm fostering a dog from the Humane Society, and her coat is really thin at the moment due to pregnancy and malnutrition. I was bathing her today, and I noticed a bull's eye about the size of a quarter on her hind quarters. I can't find any information that would tell me if dogs get the same rash that humans do if bitten by an infected tick.
She's been very sick with a kidney infection, but she's on antibiotics, and she's feeling much better.
The more I look at it, the more I think it might be ringworm. I noticed it while I was giving her a bath, and now she's drying, and the rash is getting a bit crusty looking. I tried taking a picture of it, but now that she's dry, it's harder to see, and she won't be still long enough for me to move the fur out of the way to get a pic.

yes they do. I called my vet just last week asking the same question.

It sounds like it could be ring worm! If so, it is contagious and you can catch it from her as well as the other people and pets in your home. I would take her to the Vet ASAP and find out.

Is she showing signs of Lyme disease? A few symptoms are lack of appetite, depression, arthritis and lameness. If she is showing any of those, take her to the vet or to the shelter you got her from and they will do an in-clinic test to see if she has a disease caused by ticks. Good luck and you are so nice for fostering her!

Yep, get a picture of it ASAP, then get her and the picture to the vet (rash will change or fade quickly sometimes)
Note, the rash doesnt always accompany lyme disease, and sometimes a bullseye like rash can be caused by other things.
She needs bloodwork though. Lyme can turn into Chronic Lyme (which technically isnt Lyme, but sucks anyway) with no symptoms and is then incurable.
Also you said she is on anti-biotics. Because of that it is highyl unlikely she will show lyme symptoms even if she has it. Antibiotics will limit the disease until they stop (assuming its not enough to kill it off) then it will hit her.
