Can someone live their whole lives with some amount of kidney damage?


Can someone live their whole lives with some amount of kidney damage?Or, is that if you have ANY amount of kidney damage, you are going to need a kidney transplant at some point in your life.
Apparently, "All Mighty One", I know nothing, therefore the question has been asked out here on Yahoo. Enjoy your thumbs-down for a dumb-a$ $ answer.
Thank you. I though that was the case, but wanted to ask for validation purposes. A friend of mine is exaggerating a condition...

No transplants are only done in lifethreatening cases. If it's mild damage, then no.

You didn't say if the damage was on one or both kidneys. A person can live a long and healthy life with only one kidney.
