Can i take birth control if i only have one fully functioning kidney?

Can i take birth control if i only have one fully functioning kidney? When i was born, one of my kidneys was underdeveloped, and it never grew right, but it still works only a small bit.
It doesn't cause me any problems, and my other kidney is in perfect health.

Would taking birth control interfere with the health of that kidney?
I'm going to a planned parenthood clinic to get it, and i'm really nervous. I just don't want to get the courage to go, and end up not being able to get it.

this is a question that only your doctor can answer for you. since you have to see him in order to get the pill, you can discuss the pros and cons. i know the pill can be bad for the heart, but i have no idea what the effect would be if you have only one kidney.good luck.
