What type of disease is this, if it is one?My grandmother's best friend is 64, she's in the hospital but the doctors don't know what is causing it. Her symptoms are: Kidney not emptying fully, Enlarged Liver, Unable to keep potassium levels up, she has Gall bladder disease, and EXTREME fatigue. Anything will help, God bless you.

sounds like some toxicity is going on... maybe exposure to lead or some weird chemical?

The doctors don't know what it is because the symptoms are all very general and not pointing to any specific disease. It could be one disease or a combination of several diseases. They will do tests to help point to a cause but it could well be that hey find nothing.

There may be a blockage of some kind in her kidneys, I'm thinking in the renal pelvis. Liver enlargement (hepatomegaly) has many causes. Low potassium (hypokalemia) also has many causes. The friend may have concurrent conditions causing her symptoms. More tests will have to be run.
