Slow functioning kidneys even before birth?I have a nephew who has some kind of problem. And i want to know the actual name of the disease. I think it has something to do with slow functioning kidneys. Like the work a regual kidney would do in 10 minutes with would do in 1.5 hours. They detected it when he was still in his mothers womb. I just want to know what it could be.

i dont know the name of that, but maybe he has hydronephrosis-where there is fluid in the kidneys?

The Kidneys are a bean shaped, fist size organ whose task is to filter blood and remove the waste. The blood enters the kidneys via the Renal Artery and leaves via the Renal Vein. Inside each kidney, blood is channeled into a million tiny filters, called a glomerulus (the plural is glomeruli). Glomeruli are joined to small tubes (tubules) to make nephrons and each nephron is surrounded be a network of capillaries.
