Iga Nephropathy (Berger's disease) isn't a good thing. Your doctor is being thorough and at this point you shouldn't worry. There are many websites about Iga and Berger's disease. Please look at them after running a search for "Iga nephropathy" and "Berger's disease". Then if you have any questions, please direct them to your doctor rather than Yahoo! Answers. That would be far more appropriate.

Why would your nephrologist suddenly check for cysts? Have you just been diagnosed? Or is there some other indication of a problem?

Anyway, I think cysts can be seen through non-invasive means like CT and ultrasound. Assuming you had a biopsy to diagnose IgAN, this is nothing like that.

At any rate, I wouldn't worry. Maybe the neph is just trying to rule out any other conditions to determine the course of your treatment.
