I have heard that acute kidney failure can be treated, but in cats?Is it possible for my cats to have acute kidney failure that can go away or do they most likely have chronic kidney failure that is uncurable?

probably not curable. doesn't it need a transplant and how do you do that with cats. sorry about your cat.

at this point its not curable, and they can't do transplants. but cats do better with kidney failure than dogs. after diagnoses, they can live on for several years quite happily, but it requires daily fluids, on an IV, u kno, u have to hook them up for a few minutes. this makes them feel better, it flushes out their kidneys(since kidney failure means that the kidneys can't do it themselves)

Acute kidney failure can be treated, but if it is chronic, it is unlikely that they will get better. The most important thing is to take your cat to the veterinarian immediately if clinical symptoms appear.

well some vets claim its curable but your going to get yourself into some serious financial and emotional woe the kindest course would to be take care of you cat until it is in pain from it and then have it put to sleep sorry bout that

I had a cat that had acute kidney failure and she had to be put to sleep. I am sorry to tell you this, but I still miss her and it has been almost 7 years since the vet said that she was in pain and it would be best for her.
