how can patients with kidney disease suffering from anemia be treated?

B12 shots if it is not too low, Z track injections of Dexferrum if it is very low. Do you have Acute Pylonephritis? I had it and was given a broad spectrum antibiotic and the bleeding stopped. I was left with healed over scars on the kidneys, or what doctors call necrotic tissue.
A more correct name would be Medullary Necrosis. Once while I still had the disease, it went very low and they had to give me two pints of blood. But I prefer the iron shots to taking the chance on someone elses blood. Now I have been in remission since 1980, but I still get a low hemoglobin reading every now and then, so keep a watch on yours.

It really depends upon how low your red blood cell count (hemoglobin and hemocrit counts), Mild cases of anemia can be treated with Vitamin B12 or Iron supplements.
More acute cases are generally treated with Procrit or Epogen shots. Both can be used in conjunction with other treatments, too. Of course, check with your doctor to see which is best for you.
