Well, kidneys are definitely involved in proper maintenance of blood pressure by controlling excretion of salt and fluid. They are also among the organs most readily damaged by high blood pressure, which can create a kind of vicious circle leading to renal damage and even kidney failure. Because the kidneys can sustain more than 80% damage before someone experiences symptoms, its important to catch the problem early. Whatever happens from here, you are fighting to save your kidneys and your life. Take prescribed medications properly, do not stop taking them without talking to your doctor first, and make whatever lifestyle and eating changes they recommend. Good luck.
