Have any one had a kitten that died of kidney fail?well i have two cats who are brother and sister they mated and she had kitten only two but one of the kittens stomach is really big so i took it to the vet , The vet said that the kitten kidney is size of a grown cat. I ask him could it be because they are brother and sister he said yes, have anyone ever heard of such thing. Because they are related. No i did not try to mate them i got two of the cats so the other would not be lonely , they were kittens when i got them. Is there a chance my kitten could live.

Maybe it is just deformed. Lots of deformed animals do live but if you think that there is something seriously wrong with it then take it to the vet. I think it will be fine

Yes, mating brothers and sisters quite often causes birth defects or other defects or problems in the offspring - in any species, including humans and cats.
One reason almost all societies have laws prohibiting the matting of people related by blood - sisters and brothers, fathers and children, mother and children, cousins, etc. - is because of this very real danger of birth defects and other either fatal or disabling problems.
Many breeds of cats have specific problems because in-breeding (that is the mating of related cats) that was done on a routine basis by breeders trying to breed cats who most closely physically match the breed "standards" for cat show competition purposes.
Breeders who breed purebred cats have only fairly recently begun to eliminate the mating of related cats to try and eliminate the problems. The breeding community is trying to avoid in-breeding by creating a database which tracks cats to show who is related and who is not.
It is never wise to allow cats who are related, by blood, to mate.
You need to have the females spayed and the males neutered.

Lesson learned - get both your cats spayed/neutered asap to prevent it happening again. Cats can get pregnant really young - younger than a lot of people think.
I don't know what your kitten's chances are, but follow the advice of your vet. Usually kidney failure effects old cats, but now and then it will happen to a young one. If it's acute kidney failure, the chances are slim, but if its chronic, then life can be prolonged a couple years, but kidney failure isn't something that can be cured.
I don't know if a big kidney equals kidney *failure*, so maybe it's something else. Best of luck!

When an animal (cat, human, whatever) carries a genetic defect, if they mate with another with the same defect, those bad genes are passed along and show up in the offspring. This is why is socially unacceptable for humans to marry close relatives. Brother and sister pairings in cats will guarantee that if there *is* a genetic defect in the parents, it will show up in their offspring. Chances are that there are other genetic issues "wrong" with those kittens that you are not seeing yet. Whether or not this kitten or any of the others are going to live long, happy lives is really nothing we can tell you, but it really doesn't sound very good for the kitten you've taken to the vet.
And this is why early spay/neuter is so very important. They become mature much faster than we plan, and this is the result.
