Does anyone know where I can find information about Kidney disease & the relationship between having Diabetes?I have a history of polycytic kidney disease but do not have symptoms yet. I also have gestational diabetes . My doctor said that it is most likely that I will have type 2 diabetes after my pregnancy.
I have polycystic kidney disease now.

There is a relationship between diabetes and kidney disease...but its the diabetes that causes kidney disease!
Providing you get your weight down after the pregnancy you stand no more chance of getting type 2 diabetes than the next person.

diabetes is not the only way a person can get kidney disease..(to whoever made that comment) I have treated many patients with diabetes that do not go into renal failure or disease even at end stage of life)
