Are swelling of the tongue and muscle cramps signs of kidney failure?Okay, I ask this because I am already aware that I have acute kidney failure and chronic kidney disease. I should go to my doctor but unfortunately am temporarily without health insurance. My kidneys are functioning at 28% as of August, i'm 23, usually one of the happiest and perkiest people you'll meet, always wearing a smile, and have felt recently that i'm not myself. Here's all the symptoms I'm USED to having:
Dizziness
Weakness
Swelling of the ankles
Headache
High Blood Pressure
Severe Back Pain
Foamy urine
Shortness of Breath
Heart Palpitations (not sure if it's connected to the failure)
Here's my new symptoms:
Insomnia
Depression
Swelling of the tongue
Joint cramps and pain
Swelling of the knees
Awful taste in the mouth
Frequent Urination
Severe lack of concentration
These may not even be symptoms but I am just curious as to what anyone can find to help me out. I appreciate the time you took to read this and look forward to serious answers that may help. I hope my function hasn't dropped even lower already...

maybe -drink more water, eat a banana daily, and see your doctor.

I'm sorry to say that this might be exactly what's happening. You need to go to the largest hospital that you live around. This will also be the most popular too. These hospitals have a trauma unit if that helps. Then go there. They will not refuse you any medical help and will assist you in getting medicaid for health insurance too. Why have you gone so long with no one telling you this? Please go asap and have someone you trust or that assists you in you care go with you. There is no reason to suffer just because of no health insurance. Good luck and God Bless
